Still in Grading Jail

Still in Grading Jail

Anybody else?

And really, if you're done, just keep it to yourself, thanks!

My last sentence of the year will be served shortly. Not looking forward to it.

Still visiting justice on the heads of my sheep. I have until noon tomorrow to get through the stacks and decide who is plus and who is minus, who is A and who is C, etc., etc.

It is now Monday night, and I am hoping you've been sprung from grading jail. I shimmied out about 3PM after a load of some of the most disappointing papers yet received. I am soooo looking forward to a few weeks free of student papers.

What is it about citations that are so hard? My students could not seem to master that the footnote number goes after the period. Sigh.

Most of mine don't get that footnotes are instead of body parentheticals.

Some of mine like to make up new citation formats by counting textbook sections within the chapters, instead of using page numbers, then citing the same section repeatedly for several pages....

And they like to italicize quoted material, sometimes in addition to quotation marks.

But I'm done with it for a while.
