Another Vocab Bleg

Another Vocab Bleg

Zehntrecht -- I know exactly what it is, but don't know if 'tithe' is the translation we usually use -- part of me thinks there's a word we use in Latin instead? Can I tell you how much I really wish that German scholars kept technical terms in Latin?

Vielen Dank!

Actually, "Zehntrecht" ist more like "tithe right", the right of someone to collect tithes.

As to "der Zehnte", "tithe" is very much the right translation. I could not think on any Latin equivalent used remotely as often as "tithe" and "tithing" in English texts of all origins or ages.
