Apropos of Sharon's post

Apropos of Sharon's post

Sharon at Early Modern Notes asked for some of our favourite song covers, and I came up with some. At dinner tonight, a friend's son asked me if I'd seen this version of Sunday, Bloody Sunday. Needless to say, I had not. Had you?

I have a whole playlist, which includes 3 versions of Take me to the River - Al Green, the Talking Heads, Annie Lennox - and all the wonderful Tom Jones covers. I think I like his version of Prince's Kiss better than the original. Always Something There to Remind Me - Dionne Warwick, Naked Eyes, and The Hippos (the last a California ska version!). I lover covers.

I agree with CP's assessment of the Tom Jones version of Kiss. Much better version.

Why, I must agree, since it was one of the ones I posted at Sharon's! Also, I like The Stranglers doing "walk on by"
