We start today; I start tomorrow. I have syllabuses, but I'm really not in the mindset for teaching. Don't yet know what I'll be doing tomorrow. I think I'll work on it this afternoon.
Start Thursday. One syllabus ready to copy, but I am so not in the teaching headspace. Fortunately, grad seminar doesn't start till the following Wednesday. Need to pull together materials for my 4th year review. Haven't finished what I was supposed to get done this summer. Crappety crap crap crap.
Yep, this was my Day One too. Winged it a little more than most times. Survived unscathed. Still need to finish another syllabus for tomorrow's class...
First day on campus today. First freshman seminar meeting later in the week. First real classes Monday. One syllabus not yet figured out. One scholarly article not yet finished. Aargh! OTOH, syllabi for three classes done and at the copy centre. Blackboard classes mostly done for the surveys -- and would be finished if Blackboard hadn't buggered the discussion boards when I copied them over.
I'm sort of on the quarter system, I think, because next week is when pre-term meetings start, and the first day of classes isn't until Sept. 5, and even then there are class retreats the like that week, so classes don't start for real until Monday, Sept. 10, which feels incredibly late. Of course, remind me of this when I'm not wrapping up until mid-June next spring!
UK term not for several weeks yet, but as I still don't know what course or courses I'm teaching how much on, there's still plenty of room for failure to be prepared! Bonne chance à tous...

Tomorrow the grand adventure begins, as my program director says. Too bad IT has not loaded any students into our Blackboard websites yet. . .
