It's just a reflection of inherent Yankee superiority. ;-)
(I say this here b/c I certainly can't say it on campus!)
Despite spending my first 8 years in Kansas, I got zero Midwestern too. I'm thinking the poll sets the Midwest and Dixie bars too high.
